Help! I have fitted a pair of Hepco and Becker engine bars to my 99 1150GS today and with the sheet in English from this site it was fairly trouble free.
When i came to refitting the fuel tank i found it was a struggle to get it forward enough and looking underneath the tank the bars are touching the inside of the fuel tank at the front.
The front bolts are tightened correctly but the bars don't sit flat with fairing bracket obviously tipping the bars out slightly.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Ronnie

Had the same problem. I took a technical approach and just bent the bars a bit to give 3mm or so of clearance. Do it whilst fitted on the bike - IF YOU'RE CAREFUL (otherwise you risk testing the bars). Or remove and bend off the bike.

H/B Engine Bars

Just re-fitted mine to my 03 GS today - no problem.

Try putting the front mounting behind the front 'beak' mounting frame!

Thanks and update

I thought i would try moving the beak brackets to the outside first and then bend if neccessary but just moving the brackets has given me about 6mm clearance each side.
I am happy now and they do look good.
Thanks for the tips guys.
