We had a 1st class breakfast on the roof. Nice people, relaxed town a couple of miles away.Tafroute: Bit of a confusing place and it didn't help that it was a holiday. I can't remember the name but we stayed in a big hotel on the top of a hill overlooking the city. Unremarkable.
I think it was the Hotel les Amandiers, Simon negotiated a good deal for us here. I also vote Tarafoute for the best Tajine of the whole trip but I can’t remember the name of the restaurant, but Tim might recall as he chose it.Tafroute: Bit of a confusing place and it didn't help that it was a holiday. Yes, and I'm aware the guy got a lot of thanks for restoring the riyad. Perhaps it was because it was off season and empty, but none of us were impressed.timolgra said:I hope you went into and had a look around the place
It was also cold and damp, Hotel Bougafer was cheaper after Simon cut a deal and totally secure parking for the bikes. The other reason we left the Tombuctou was
-dreary decor (IMHO)
- the caretaker said the Hot Water was switched off (there were no guests!)
Tim is correct, Auberge Berbere D'Ouriz (N30 40.848 W6 25.668) We could have parked the bikes inside but could not be bothered.I'm guessing your first 'quote' where we had breakfast on the roof should have been for Auberge Berbere D'Ouriz.

Good spot not far from the dunes & they organised a guide to take us into the sand.
