Help......I cant decide

..and the thing is, the 650 twin is really an 800 anyway, so there's no loss in the trouser-snake department for those who equate cc's to inches... ;)

the 650 is a great bike, but the 800 is a great bike, and looks like a f**king awesome bike that turns heads...

I also agree, ego plays a massive part in your choice... :augie

What kind of fuel consumption do you get out of an 800 then? currently i am getting about 48ish out of my single!

I can't believe you get 48 out of a 650 single? Mine did way more than that. My 800 varies between 48 and 56, usually around 52, and I'm not exactly light on the throttle. The only reason I changed my 650 was because I ended up thrashing it everywhere.

Well i have now been the other side of the fence!! I can't beleive the difference in performance/ smoothness. The difference is incredible. So after taking the 650 out i went onto the 800 and although very similar i was slightly disapointed by it i must say. The 650 was silky smooth even at 90 but at 100 (on a private road)!! there was some slight vibration. Now the 800 was ver similar but the vibes started at about 80 which supprised me. Have any 800 riders any experience at 80+ with vibes or was it just that particular bike.

Appart from that i loved them both and will almost certainly be changing to one or the other very soon!!

Cheers for all the advice so far.:beerjug:

It was implied! :)

For everyday riding the 650 is nicer to ride for sure, but for me, for long distance touring, good roads, bad roads and no roads the 800 rules supreme I'm afraid ;)

Over 80 on my 800 and over 100 (on the same private road) with no shakes what so ever. It was smoother than my 650 at the speed.

Good luck

Yes I think your mind is made up now your doomed :D its a great Bike :thumb

Best for your money should be here (the reason is many have bitts on that dealers may remove and your going to want bitts, also you would generaly have threads here about the bike :D all cherished :D) you will see cheaper ones but minus the bitts:thumb2

I think with most F800gs's Im right in saying the main thing they have that the f650 does not have is the "switch" you can just flick it on when ever you like you may be passing a shop window (like Debenhams) and you can give it a flick, maybe when you passing a F650GStwin (unless we loose you on the twisties of course) some leave it on all the time.

But whatever you do use it and have Fun :D :D :D :D
