i just loaded Linux freespire onto it and left the "write mbr" box ticked.

This has basically left me only linux as a boot option - when i really need to dual boot into XP as well.

Anyone know what to do to get windows back ?

I've got a freespire live cd and a windows xp disc.

i've tried the xp disc and typing 'R' for recovery console and it gets me to the command prompt.........what next ?

MM as far as I know the Recovery console only works if you have 'backed up' into it at some point.
Ignore that option and continue with the windows installation and you should be presented with a second 'Repair' option which will just reinstall your window files.

I think fixmbr is the command to re-write the mbr to windows liking.
