Help.... I've wipe my Quest!

I loaded some maps for France and found that I could no longer serach on an address in the UK and had in fact lost all the finer detail for the UK...

I then tried to copy across the UK maps and now I've just got the US

I did hit restore all settings which I thought would help!

Please help.... the kids are getting them brunt of my frustration

Works every time I need to add numbers to my phone or program the video recorder.

Unless the Quest is different to the 3 Garmin units I've owned, each time you load maps it wipes all existing maps & loads up the new map set. Therefore you cannot just add a map, you must load up another map set which includes all that you currently use plus any new maps. That's one of the reasons I upgraded to the 2610 from the SP111 - I just leave most of Europe loaded up all of the time.

Yes, all you should need to do, is highlight all the maps in mapsource that you want on your Quest unit (take note in the bottom left of mapsource screen, it'll tell you how many mb of data the currently selected maps use, remember you have 243mb of user available memory) and then when you have got those that you want, highlighted (pink) the names of them should appear down the left hand side under the "maps" tab.

Once they are there, make sure you click the box to include data required calculate routes, and then connect the quest to the pc, and upload...

this will upload all the maps selected, and it over writes any existing map data.

This should sort your problem...... good luck

Is it showing 'Garmin USA' on the map? To reset to the European basemap, zoom out and scroll the map pointer across to the UK (or wherever you happen to be at the time) zoom in on your location then go outside and switch it on. It will take a good few minutes to acquire the satellites again, just be patient. You'll also need to reset any preferences you had set.

I've re loaded the UK but now it does not show the local street detail... !!!

Friggin thing I've got work to do and this thing was suppose to save me time!

Press menu

Select settings

Go to the last icon "Map info"

Make sure "City Select Europe" has a tick in the box next to it.

must be something in the air at the mo cos i have the same problem .tried reloading the maps but still no street detail.BUGGER!
Think it started when uploading new maps and i cancelled during the event .Not been the same since.
