I've just fitted some lights using Nippy's autoswitch/relay and ............they don't work! The led works ie orange initially then flashes green when cancel button depressed, solid green when CB released.

I'm no sparky but I can follow instructions so I've checked everything and can't see where I've gone wrong.
The problem seems to be that I'm not getting a live supply at the aux lights.

This is what I've tested already:

Relay:
1.Tried another one. no difference
2. 85 - earthing ok
3. 86 & 87 Don't know how to test
4. 30 - live supply ok

Wiring connections in the fusebox:
(I've used scotchlock connectors to make sure I got everything right before I start carving up the bike's wiring to solder splice)

1. Brown to black - earthing tested ok
2. Green/blue to red - getting a live when the ignition is on, nothing when ignition off.
3. Brown/white to orange - don't know how to test.

The battery charge is probably a bit low after the winter but the lights won't work with the engine running either.

Can any of you techno wizards suggest further tests to isolate the problem. How can I test if the autoswitch is working?

Please keep technical content of replies at the electro-numpty level..............................All assistance gratefully received

Have a look Here its the basic wiring without the autoswitch though.

Try a search for Autoswitch I am sure someone else had problems like this.

Over to you BTBR;)
