I removed my brake caliper and pads last night to give them a clean. I put it all back together, then gave it a wash and a dry. I then noticed that the retaining clip that attaches to the pin holding the pad to the caliper had disappeared.

After a long look around the floor, in the washing brush etc, I think I need to replace.:censor:

Does anyone know where I can get one or what size it is, I assume it will not be a special manufacture and should be able to purchase from a hardware shop.

Also on the ABS ring there are 5 countersunk head screws, does anyone know the size of these fellas, I rounded a head of one last night also while checking over the bike.

Not normally so gormless

Cheers in advance Simon

Looks like you'll have put it down to experience and invest £12 or so on a pad pin kit to get the clip. A new pin is no bad thing though...

At a guess 25% of the bikes that arrive here have the circlip missing.
If you're that worried about it and haven't got a circlip small enough use a small cable tie

A buddy strips most garbage before he throws it, old dot matrix printers used lots of similar circlips:augie

Thanks Street Moto, great :augie:augie:augie

We have a company ( Tiivistekeskus, product number 7024071023 ) in Finland selling those clips with a price of 0,18 Euro. I think I go there tomorrow and buy some 50 pieces of them to all my BMW friends

You can Google with "tiivistekeskus" and give the product number. They have also english pages.
