Do you have these bars fitted to your 1200GS LC?

If so please can you help. Could you have a look at the relationship between your cylinder and the cage of the engine bar frame on both sides of the bike?

Does the cylinder sit centrally in the cage on both sides? Are both sides the same shape?

Mine aren't and on the Right the cylinder sits to the rear of the cage and I've suggested to Motorworks that it may be the wrong part even though it fits the mounting points.

On the left I can get a finger between the cage and the cylinder all the way round but on the right, there's about 2mm clearance at the rear (near the lower cover fixing screw) and at the front I can get my whole arm through :eek:

I'm curious to know whether this is a design anomaly or I just have the wrong part :confused:

This the right side - cant get my finger in here;

Note the large gap between the cylinder and the frame at the right edge of the photo and also how close the mounting bar is to the rear edge of the injector cover whereas the left side has at least 30 mm clearance.

On the left side, the cylinder sits nicely in the centre as you can see;

The cylinders are displaced slightly fore and aft, also slight vertical displacement. Clearly evident if you view appropriately!

I honestly didn't know that! Clearly I am a victim of inappropriate viewing :blast

You'd think SW Motech would compensate for that..........

Had a bit of a fettle.....

... And by adding a 3mm thick repair washer to each of the spacers on the right hand side I think I'll have enoughe clearance to fit the protectors too.

Belt and Braces! :D
