I changed my sidelight to an LED one and don't have any problems with LAMPF.
Help Please ---- with LED rear light

PS just a thought. when the bikes indicators were changed by BMW from Lamp to LED they simply plugged the bike into the Laptop and told it that it had LED indicators...... Could this be done for my problem here and also for the above problems ?????????????
They may have said they did, or you've assumed they did on account of the bill they charged you, but when I changed my indicators to the BMW LED ones it was a straight swap.

Sorry that previous post was meant for rong..... Need l.e.d side bulb. Must have l.e.d. !!!!!! 
I too bought a cheaper lamp from Ebay.Seems OK but h the resitor issue.
I had a TT one which was fitted to my original 1200 and then changed to this present one.It had issues with led failing and I had changed everl over the years but it had got to the pount where the printed circuit was now failing around the replaced LED's
Anyhow to the point.I just changed the leads from the TT unit to this one seems OK.But I did find this on Ebay.

Also I found,and this was true of the TT item,that tha mounting bolts were too short to mount thru' the original BMW rubbers and if one removes these the holes are too big.
I overcame this by making up some 10mm dia x 14mm long bosses with an M6 tapped hole thru and shortening the bolts on the lamp unit to about 8mm then put an oversize 6mm washer over the 8mm long stub screw on one boss and then screw in an M6 x 35(stainless) grub screw.repeat for the other two.Job done.
If anyone wants some of these PM me and send an SAE I will supply some.
