Been using a 2610 with cn8 since last november with no problems. Loaded cn 9 when it arrived about a month ago, but not really needed to use GPS til now.
Problem is when i want to follow a planned route from mapsource (as i have been doing with cn8) i get the message
'Route does not match maps available. It will not follow the roads precisely. Do you wont to recalculate?' :blast
I've not changed any settings on the 2610 or on mapsource. All software & drivers are up to date.
Have also tried to load onto a Etrex Vista CX. Says maps are loaded & turned on, but all i get is the basemap.

Any ideas guys :nenau , Off to Scotland in a couple of weeks, would be nice to use the planned routes.

Cheers

Paul

Are you absolutely certain that your maps are on the GPS - sounds as though you could have just the basemap

You may have missed just one map tile on your route.

Reload all and try again.

All maps loaded on both Gps'. Map detail shows on 2610 but only basemap shows on the etrex. Even reverting back to CN8 im getting the same problems.

Have tried planning & running a route using only one tile. Still no joy

r you sure you havn't created the routes in cn8 and now they wont match cn9 in the reciever. i did this some years ago i planed a ten day tour a few months previously to recieving an update. loaded the new maping cn8 and the old routes cn7,:blast guess what happend when i got to calais.......route does not match maps available.

This problem comes up every now and again, but its easy to rectify. I had this problem a year or so ago. Have a look at THIS THREAD.

Right click on a route and select "Select Maps Around Route" and make sure that you're using the same maps eg Version 9 in Mapsource and on the GPS unit.

Cheers Taff, Hman, was thinking it might be something like that. Can't recall having the same problem planning routes in Metroguide and then using them with cn8 though:nenau

I've had EXACTLY the same problem. There is an issue with the software that gets loaded onto the unit that stops it from transferring the map data to the memory cards.

If you use a generic card reader, you solve this problem.

I bet if you press the route button twice, you'll get GPS info, and Unit info, but no Map info.

I've been ranting at Garmin for some time on this with no clear resolution..just a shitty work around and another bit of kit...
