Just replaced the rocker covers on my 1100GS with a pair that were not corroded. Re-used the old gasket/seal and that seems oil tight but I have oil pissing out of the seal around the spark plug ! I will strip and replace these seals but am I doing something fundamentally wrong ? Back of bike now covered in oil !

ps - Anyone know recommended torque settings for the rocker bolts ?

there is a rubber seal inside the cover that goes over the 'stem' - this seals yer plugs

don't quote me but I fink the rocker bolt are 8 NEWTON METRES [Nm]

There's a round gasket that seals the sparkplug tunnel. Is it there? It's pretty easy to install the cover and move this gasket so it's not seated ok

I think the torque setting is 8nm........not much over hand tight so go easy.

Yup !

Yes, the round seal around the plug was in place, but I suppose I wasn't too careful when repositioning the cover, so I will have another go !

Install a new seal on the cover and feed It around the metal earthing clip on the cyl head carfully, then just nip the bolts up and check for leaks (if any) near the cyl head gasket /plug drain area. weav`e all done it.

Thank you

Found the torque spec's in my Hayne's manual, thanks for the above !
