Bike is running rougher than a Badgers Hind Quarters so I've started working my way through the obvious things.

First up was replacing all the spark plugs as they were due for a change anyway.

Managed to get them all changed apart from the primary plug on the left side. I cannot for the life of me get the stick coil out using that cheesy removal "tool" they supply you. The right hand one came out but is in a right state as you can see.

My worry is that the left hand one is even worse and has swollen to the point I need a lot better purchase on it than I can get with that plastic gadget to pull it out. The gadget keeps flexing and just popping off the coil cap thingy.

Any suggestions (including the ones where I'm told not to let things get to this state :blast ) on how to get the little fecker out will be gratefully recieved.

I expect I will be buying 2 new stick coils next pay, provided I can get the old one out. Is there some way to protect them better to avoid the corrosion in the future?

Cheers

Serves you right Mr Shrimpo. You should not have let them get into that state in the first place. :augie

Cant you get a big cable tie round it and hook something hooky to it to get a good pull on it ...... :thumb2

2 flat blade screwdrivers also work nicely :thumb2

I never use the tool supplied with the twin spark - Throw it away. It's useless for the function it's meant for.

two flat bladed screwdrivers, each side of the head of the coilcap and lever both together, out it pops. :thumb

Many thanks.

Have ordered the gadget but will attack with the screwdrivers tonight.......and likely not like what I find!

If it won't shift, then undo the rocker box & pull it off with this, then tap it out from the other side?
