Hi folks,

Got caught out yesterday, car pulled out - result low speed impact front wheel of my GS11 to his bumper - no visible damage but my steering has stiffened up. Seems likely to me that the impact has warped the link-bolt fixing the front suspension to the telelever arm.

Anyone had similar experience? What damage was caused? What else should I look out for? How was it fixed? Where's the best place for parts?

Minefield....

So far you've only got my reply, probably because the questions you are asking are very difficult to answer with any kind of accuracy.

What happened to claiming off the cage drivers insurance then, it was the cage drivers fault so why are you not chasing that up?

Your accident damage could be mechanically very serious or limited to one or two minor areas, however diagnosing at a distance is extremely difficult; believe me I'm sure there are loads of GS'ers itching to make helpful suggestions but crash damage is always different to another crash.

Try checking the alignment of the front forks first, they may have been twisted slightly; this nearly always happens when any bike gets tipped over and goes down - no matter how slowly - This could explain the stiff steering.

From here on in you are on your own, sorry!

:)

Thanks Mechanic,

It's going into the dealership on Friday - I'll post the verdict for anyone interested.
