Hi,

Adding some extra electric bits and bobs.

Under the front of the riders seat there are two fuses, 7.5A & 10A

I believe that the output of 10A is permantly live and the 7.5A is only live while the ignition is on. Obviously because the battery is disconnected I can’t test with a multi meter.

Can anybody confirm this.

Cheers.

RB.

You might think the resident fuse tester would have chipped in by now …

Got to the stage where I could reconnect the battery. The answer is yes.
Now disconnect the battery and complete the install.

Can't you test for continuity as that will show whether its a permanent connection with the ignition off?

Maybe BUT to use a multimeter to measure resistance (continuity) it puts a small voltage across the terminals causing a (all be it) small current to flow. I would be concerned about damaging the ecu or what ever it is called. Used as a voltmeter this is not the case as a modern voltmeter has a very high input impedance, thus drawing next to zero current.
