Hi all

I have a new lap top (Dell) as my old one is slowing down to a snails pace.

I'm trying to write a ride report  and this new computer won't let me copy and paste youtube embedded codes.

It will let me copy and paste video URL's ;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=a03L1NOSXx4

but what ever I do the embedded code wont paste.

But I can do all this on my old computer (albeit incredibly slowly),

I'm guessing this new Dell needs a programme on it like Flash player or something??

Thanks very much in anticipation ... :thumb2

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/a03L1NOSXx4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> </frame>

Will it let you copy and paste that (close the gap to </frame>)....?

yes, thanks mike, i can do it on my old computer but not this new one ... is there something that needs un-checking? something that needs downloading??

I did try to post the embed code in a form which you could modify slightly and then repost but it wasn't having any of it.....:nenau

It doesn't look as if you can quote my post, either, for some reason...

I suspect there's a security setting that you need to change on your new machine. Sorry, having migrated to the world of Mac, I've forgotten most Windows stuff surprisingly quicky.

Ok .... I think yer right ... some Norton setting or something. I'll keep trying! Thanks ...

Mine won't let me do that either with Google chrome but when I use internet explorer it will:thumb

A workaround is to copy the embed link on youtube as usual, then come out of your browser and open UKGSER via internet explorer (Bottom left of screen? )

log in and you should be able to embed your link :thumb2

.

If you can WATCH a video, you have all the flash player bits you need.....the cutting and pasting thing isn't associated with Flash player, it's a user based error :augie

What is happening when it doesn't work?
Can you highlight the full embed code?
can you even SEE the full embed code?
Is it not copying, or not pasting?
Do you get the right click menu up with the options to cut, copy, paste etc?

PS Giles, you appear to have managed to break the forum

On this threqaqd, and this thread alone, I cant see a reply button on the bottom, or any of the normal stuff below Schtum's post.

I did manage to reply using the button at the top, and my reply shows on latest posts, but isn't appearing on the thread itself :blast

What have you done man  :green gri
