The dipped beam on my 1200GS is set way too high and as a result I am getting a high round arc of light rather than a lower longer beam of light. Its making nightime riding a bit hairy to say the least.

Before I use it as an excuse to buy extra lights and HID set ups I need to try simply adjusting the beam on my normal lights.

Is is difficult? How do I do it?

Or should I nip it up to my BMW dealer and ask them o do it?

Any "illuminating" hints would be greatly apreciated.

Turn the adjuster knob in the centre of the headlight unit, at the back between the low and high beam. This also has the adjustment lever for dropping your lights when you are fully loaded. Make sure this lever is in the up position, which means the lever will be sticking out.

Turn the adjuster till it's about 88 cm off the floor at 16 feet, use a garage door to give you an idea.
Then when you have chance go to any dealer and ask them to check, they shouldn't charge but you never know how tight they are:eek:

As many will agree on here mate the lights are shite!! :spitfire
After trying many times to get some decent light on the road I took the sensible option and went for extra lights fitted by BTBR on here. Go back through these posts and look for my one entitled BTBR Lights, dated 070307, there are pics on there mate. The set up is SUPERB. It's the safets option IMHO :thumb2
