help with starcom and gps

Problems with starcom and garmin 2610 gps

Trying to get
the two to talk to each other any volume coming out of
the 2610 seems to be distorted and very low volume any
one got any suggestions. The StarCom1 works well with mp3
player and 2way radio. So am I missing somthing.

I had exactly the same problem and Starcom told me I had the wrong lead, they supplied a new one and the problem was resolved.

There is a bit more....

The 2610 power cable has a plug spliced into it that the starcom cable goes into - This is a weak point and the audio cables seem to break in this area (on the 2610 cable) This means you may at a later date get a lot of crackling and loss of sound. Mine does this sometimes and a quick wiggle of the cable gets it back however these days I tend to ride with the sound off anyway so I am not that bothered.
