Hi Guys,
Where does the brown fuel pump earth lead connect to on the bike for a 95 Plastic tank GS? I have just replaced the HT leads this morning - taken the tank off in accordance with Haynes-looked underneath and found a brown lead with male connecter on end hanging in the breeze. I didn't disconnect it myself-and there was no tug as I gently took off the tank. The Haynes manual doesn't mention this lead when telling you how to take the tank off-but shows it in a later section attached the fule pump as on mine. It has been cable tied so that it only has about four inches of movement and I can't see any female socket that matches the male connector anywhere in the vicinity on that side of the bike-let alone where it can actually reach-so come on guys where does it go? This should be easy,

Explorer,

I've got a 95 plastic tanked bike as well. Wire crosses the frame at the front before going back to the battery.

The lead attaches to the metal plate on the tank by a ring connector, the ring connector fots under one of the bolts securing the plate in position. I presume it's to prevent any static build up on the plastic tank.

Thanks Rob-The picture says it all-I will whip the tank off again-and look the other side for the end connected to the bike rather than the tank. Bike runs fine without it-but it's there for a purpose-however I have a feeling on my bike the longer part attached to the bike rather than the tank may not be there-but with this I can get it.
Thans again Explorer
