CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A STEP BY STEP (IDIOT PROOF) GUIDE TO PRODUCING A LONG PLAYING CD.

WHAT I WANT TO DO IS PUT AS MANY ALBULMS ONTO 1 CD, WHICH MEANS COMPRESSING THEM, AND FINALIZING

MY CD PLAYER READS MP3/WMA FILES & ATRAC 3 PLUS FORMATS. AND CLAIMS THAT I CAN HAVE 10 HOURS OF MUSIC ON ONE CD-R

It's a long time since i've done one of these but I think the secret is not creating an audio CD. If you do the writing software will convert the tracks from the MP3 format to a format suitable for playing on a conventional player.

I think I created mine as a data cd but can't remember. But you must finalise it before use.

Most CD burning software (Roxio, Nero etc.) should give you the option to create an MP3-CD (rather than audio or data), which will play on an MP3-compatible player.

Roxio is probably the easiest to use.
