Hi Dave,

I have Gobi panniers fitted to my R1200GS and retain the BMW topbox.

The frames were easy to fit, the pannier have an odd interior shape but work well for my needs.

I've modified them by making a shelf out of thin ply, that slots into each pannier, which then sits on a number of small plastic blocks bonded to the pannier walls.

I've yet to fit a fabric and handles to the shelf which will then allow two layers of kit bit with an easy way to remove the top half.

I always use top load panniers and wouldn't consider BMW's original equipment at all.

I've had no problems with the kit and recommend them.
