Hepco & Becker luggage rack

Hi,

Just fitted the luggage rack to my GS, and as where the right side if fine, the left side is a "problem".

When everything is fitted without using brute force, the screws of the front part is touching the exhaust.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal?

Hi Casper,
which Hepco Becker rack have you fitted. I have a H.B. Rack fitted to my 1200GS and it was a good easy fit. Or do you mean Pannier Frames ?.

I seem to recall a similar problem when I fitted Hepco frames to my previous bike but it was sorted by cutting the mounting bolts shorter.

Like Thunder said, just "Trim" down the screw to leave some clearance. Should be ok.

Mine are CLOSE to the exhaust, but they dont touch it...

Got it sorted, got some M6 bolts, I replaced everything with M6 50mm, and for the mount at the exhaust I used M6 40mm which fitted just fine.
