I was looking at topboxes and decided on the H&B Gobi for my 1200GSA, however seeing how high it was from the original rack i'm having second thoughts. Can you fit one in place of the pillion seat? So it doesn't look like it's on stilts?
If not i'll probably get a caja sahel, they look like they fit a lot better.

That's not the Gobi, that's the Expedition 35 litre box same as I use.

The Gobi is not as tall and wider.

Don't they use the same rack? I thought i read that somewhere. Nice guide btw :thumb

I misread the original post and have just noticed you were talking about the rack height, your right the rack is universal for all the Hepco boxes, just the same way in fact as the panniers rails can be used for all their panniers.

In the "flesh" I don't notice the height of the rack, it's no thicker than the BM or Givi base plate and the box can be removed in seconds.

Mounting the box in the passenger position would not be straightforward with the standard 1200 rack which uses mounts into the rear subframe for additional support like the BMW Vario and Givi, but I'm looking at seeing if another rack can be adapted at the moment. :thumb
