Is anyone around on Sat 16th (Morning ideally) in the Herts area? I am looking to have my second outing, the first was last weekend and I have the bug :)

where are you thinking of ? might be up for it if I can get the boys home in time:thumb

Are we talking on or off road? On road or very gentle green lanes for beginner on GS1200...if so i'd be up for that? I live at Royston so anywhwere close for a meet would be good.

turnipbmw - I have looked at a couple on the O/S map, I have know idea if they are easy / Difficult / good / any good. I am as much as anything looking for tips / advice!

brianmaslen - I am talking about Lanes / off road, nothing too taxing (hopefully). The more the merrier.....and it is only my second time! but I have the advantage of not having a heavy bike

What do you think?

How did you get on?

All the routes you've picked are OK for big GS's and even road tyres.

Your first track is a dead-end the part that leads to south mimis is restricted

Hey guys, I had a blast, i was going down a lane when i saw some bikes coming the other way, The leader stops and shouts "Aceboy, right?" Quite spooky considering I was fully scarfed / helmetted up!! Turns out thye were part of the GreenLaneCrew (GLC) anyway they let me tag along with them. All was goinf well till some old git in a car t-bones me in stevenage......

2 minor bruises to me, and a little bit of plasticn brokem on the DR Brush guard........

It didn't stop me getting straight back on, and riding off for a nother couple of hours......

My maps are all pre-legislation. I think that Wreford now has a better understanding of the legal routes in Herts.

Sounds like you bumped into Richard on his 650 Challenge.... Let me guess he was riding the restricted part of the South Mimms route ;-)

Aceboy - If you have a set opf maps I'm happy to meet up and mark some routes for you

The guys I bumped into were taking a group out on an "off road experiance day"

my email adress is dan[AT]clayphan[dot]co[dot]uk I can use PM's as I am not regsitered.......meeting up would be great so i can work out where I can / canot go. i dont want to upset land owners, not break the law.... :angel
