Folks,

You may have seen that Nick is off again on his 'Double'. Obviously the fright everyone had in South America where his mechanic got taken hostage, hasn't held him back. Saw him a few years ago when he was at Hein Gericke Newry and have managed a chat a couple of times at various bike shows. He's one of a kind and obviously has a determination and will-power beyond comprehension, to do these endurance feats ........

I'll be honest, I admire the man immensely. He has cahonas of steel and has done things which I'd love to do.

What I fail to fully understand is why he would want to do this as some kind of speed record

Is this what happens when you have done it all ? All that's left is to do it all again but at a speed that means you can't relish the journey at all ........

I thought the journey was what it was ALL about.

Good luck to him and I hope he stays safe. But let's be honest, speed records don't usually stand the test of time do they so it'll all be for nowt

I've still saved his blog to my favourites to keep an eye on his progress !
