Following from a PM from Chris Kelley I was looking up Geordie on Wikipedia and found this rather nice titbit:)

Geordie also has a large amount of vocabulary not heard elsewhere in England, though some are shared with (or similar to) Scots. The Geordie accent is often broader (heavily used) in Newcastle, other parts of the north east tend not to have a very strong accent, it all depends on how its grasped. In a newspaper survey, the Geordie accent was found to be the "most attractive in England"
