A friend of mine has the 800 gs and wondered what was involved in the upgrade if possible and list of parts need if indeed possible ?
Cheers

You have your reasons, but my question is why bother? Quick guestimate has parts bill heading north of £3k - tank, subframe, bodywork etc
Options I see are
1) two different alternatives allow fitting of a supplementary tank (one on the carrier, the other under the RHS)
2) carry a plastic can
3) stop and refuel every 180 miles/4 hours like the rest of us
4) encourage your friend to splash out £12 and subscribe

Doubtless there are other opinions.
Regards.

Hi ive done it and it was fairly straight forwards the adventure tank is quite a tight squeeze and its much easier to remove the subframe and do it that way.
the subframe on the adventure model is a different p/n its stronger (i still have a adventure subframe if interested)
although it still fits with standard rear frame
visually the tank looks slightly odd if you dont fit the adventure pannier brackets because the adventure tank is moulded around the panniers brackets .( i do have some pannier brackets if needed lol)
the wiring loom to rear lights/ pump ect has all be disconnected to gain access.
I managed to complete it in around 4 hours.
sorry i cant help regarding a list of parts needed
i just used what i already had .

It was sold on this forum i still have quite a few parts if any one would like to do it

wouldn't buying a camle tank be less of a hassle for the same tank size?
