Hi all,

Not sure where to put this, so mods please move if its not in the right place.

I have a couple of good HID ballasts that came with a kit of H3 ( i believe) bulbs.

I have H4 bulbs in my car and want to use the ballasts with some new H4 Hi/Lo bi-xenon bulbs.

My question is are the ballasts in these chinese kits universal as the H4's flick in the hi/low position.

Cheers

the hid kits all have same ballasts to a degree ie 35w or 55w and same type plugs but for hi /lo you need loom and h4 bulbs

H4 fitment (HID)

When going HID with H4,you have problems.
Not insurmountable, but problems.
First of all, the majority of H4 burners you will buy have such a rotten beam pattern you will be better off keeping the original lamps.
I fitted a kit and found this to be so.
I bought a set of 50w ones of Les Wassel of this parish, and, as promised by him, the beam pattern was nigh on perfect. Look at his website for the reasons behind the problems.
The 2 filaments in a standard H4 are not mounted on the same plane, and most burner manufacturers have the dip/main solenoid mounted to move staight in/out rather than at an angle to leave the arc in the correct position in both dip & main.
I have since sold the car onto which I fitted the H4 50w burners, (Less than 20 hours use on them), and they are now sitting in my shed. The are available to anyone who wants them - for a price.
(without ballasts)
Regards Myke

the dip light works fine ,but i agree the main is :censor:
but how often do you need main beam :comfort
:hide
its like main beam on the gsa ,i must have used it once i think

but the main advantage is the dip beam is so much better :D

They should be yes if they said they're when you purchased them.
