I fitted a set of Bosch HID's to my 1150 this week but wasn't happy about fitment so I extended the cables by 12 inches.

The ballasts now reside where the ABS module would sit.

I have to say the difference is amazing, i changed dip and main beam and, Wow.

Incidentally, I'm an aircraft engineer and have taken great care in the extending of the wiring.

At the end of the day, yes the cables can be extended.

hid wiring.

I put my ballast on the top of the air filter box (1150gs) as it would not fit elsewhere. No problems at all even see where I'm going must do the main beam next.

Excellent :clap How did you do it exactly?... i.e. what spec of cable did you use, how did you make the joints etc. etc.
Having a longer cable certainly gives you more possibilities of where to mount the ballasts, making fitting a lot easier.
Anyone do a lightbar for a 1200GSA yet? :nenau
