Hiring Harley’s from Eaglerider

Patto and I had a sit on a Electra Glide today to see what it felt like, comfy but man that's a shockingly heavy machine!!!

Trudi wouldn't even entertain the idea - it was a RT, GS, Pan or (if absolutely necessary) Goldwing for her. Eaglerider are starting to get K1600GT's at some locations, so hopefully we'll rent one of those on our next trip

HC Travel

We did a Gatwick LV trip thru them. ER at Vegas did the bikes, we did the accomdation etc.. On arrival ER said they couldnt guarantee we would get the bikes of our choice,,, despite ordering and PAYING over 6 months previously.. However we did get what we wanted, and all went really well for all of us - 7 bikes..... Only other comment I'd make - the flight costs thru HC were a lot more expensive than I could have got doing it myself direct. Virgin LGW - LV - LGW. Given the volumes you'd assume HC could get better rates !!!
But,, on balance we were pleased with HC and they were a great help throughout with advice etc . I would not hesitate to use them again or recomend them to others....

Happy times,
Joe C

I've checked out HC travel and a few others too, no benefit too us. Flights will be via cattle truck airlines off Skyscanner, trips not booked yet but getting closer!

May catch an early flight out of Heathrow following an overnight stay in the Jurys Inn Hatton Cross, but we'll have to see

Very few hire companies guarantee that the machine you hire is the one you'll get. Things go wrong and a guarantee like that, unless you are a huge company, will catch you out somewhere. If you'd hired a glide I'm sure you'd have ended up with a glide, it wouldn't have impacted the holiday a great deal if you'd been given a Road King Classic instead of a Road King would it? :nenau

Trip is now booked! Two of us going, bikes are to be Road Kings booked through Tim Orr at the Lost Adventure. Flying to Vegas 3rd June - Fly back 16th June. One full day in Vegas, then eleven days on the bikes.

I've never been this excited about a trip! :JB

Childish I know :D

Brilliant stuff Ebbo and it's a great time to go. Just remember that although Nevada is very hot you will get to some altitude on the bikes if you go the the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley etc so take a warm layer:thumb

Happy Days:thumb

Aah, Independance Pass:D Great road and it will be a bit chilly up there so take a good pair of gloves and some technical underwear and you should be good to go.

Took a bunch of Tossers up there a few years ago and I have to say that the road on teh East side of teh pass is an absolute belter:thumb

Another vote for Eaglerider.

Called into HD Orlando last week (Kissimee branch) and asked about hiring a Harley. Took two hours for them to speak to us and then told us to come back on Wednesday night as they had an Open Night with free food and drink.

So last night we drove down to Kissimee to sign up for a couple of Harleys. I even helped the guy push the Harley trike back into the showroom. When we asked where the rental bikes were, we were rudely told that they had been moved to another branch as it was Speed Week. I explained that we had driven down to arrange the rental bikes but they were not interested. They then told us that the other branch was now closed and the free bike evening was cancelled.:(

So this morning, Thursday, I called into Eaglerider. What a pleasant difference. Everyone, from the sales reception girl to the salesman and the old boy bike mechanic were extremely helpful and all had a good sense of humour.

I've booked and paid for a full fat Electra Glide with all the bells and whistles. It worded out cheaper than the HD dealer and ten times better service. The HD dealer would have debitted a full $2,000 charge to our account and only refunded it after the bike was returned. Eaglerider will only authorise a $1,000 charge similar to a hotel check-in without charging the amount unless they need to. Even with the extra insurance as noted above it is still cheaper than HD. They can hire you a decent smart leather jacket for only $15 even it it does look excedingly :ymca

They will even drive around and pick me up from hotel for no extra charge. Apparently, I could ride across country and drop bike off in LA. Very tempting:)
