Oh my gawd

Must be gettin' old. I've recently been pondering buying a flip up helmet. I was in 'Just Bikers' in Plymouth looking at the Shoei at £250 and was generally impressed with the quality although they only had large sizes.

They did have some HJC in in S and XS. Tried one on and was very impressed. JB were selling them reduced from £190 to £150. Needless to say I came away wiv a white XS!

I find myself a bit wary of departing from the Arai/Shoei quality end of the market.

Now I look in the mirror and see Ken Craven!! This gettin old(er) malarky is a bit odd.

Anyway I went for a spin and found the lid really comfortable and useful. I felt a bit of a pillock paying for my petrol with the flip up but I expect I'll get used to it.

I found it really nice not to have loads of padding and liner rubbing on my lower face when the chinbar is down.

My real reason for raising this thread is to ask for some feedback isto how these lids perform over time.

Onto me second one now, but only £80 at the BMF show complete with iridium visor!!!

No problem with the durability aspect - nothing in mine has broken/frayed/worn out, but I tend to replace my helmet every two years, anyway. I've been spouting on this forum for a while about how good these lids are, but haven't yet seen very many on the road.

Thanx for that. I think that HJC make a good lid. Like many 'rising' companies I think they price more competatively to grab a slice of the market. Sometimes this puts people, who maybe equate price with quality, off.
