I have the Hogtunes ‘Big Ultra’ on my 2010 Ultra Classic fitted a few years ago and all was well and good. One day, I got no sound and thought maybe I had touched a button setting, but no.

Support said to check the 4x associated fuses, the amp power light is on and fit the front speaker plug connection to the bypass socket. Fuses OK, power light is off (obvious) when switching on radio/CD player and no sound from the bypass connection.
Double checked all amp socket plugs had not come out and OK.

Checked the orange wire for power and is OK via the ciggie lighter. I still get sound from the tank console connection to helmet speakers as maybe this bypasses the amp.
Am I missing something?

Could the fault be from the HK radio/CD player sending a signal to the amp to switch on?

Can these amps be repaired or an alternative bought that uses the Hogtunes plug connections?
These systems are not cheap.

The amp has a cooling fan on the top and when the radio/CD player is switched on, does not spin.
Maybe the experts here can solve this problem.
Thanks all.

Support said to check the 4x associated fuses, the amp power light is on and fit the front speaker plug connection to the bypass socket to hear for sound. Fuses OK, amp power light is ON when Radio/CD is on but, no sound via the bypass connection.

Checked the orange wire for amp power and is OK via the ciggie lighter. I still get sound from the tank console connection to helmet speakers as maybe this bypasses the amp. So the Radio/CD player works to some degree.

The amp cooling fan does not spin even if power light on.
If amp buggered, can these amps be repaired or an alternative bought that uses the Hogtunes plug connections?

Show me a picture of the socket that connects the stereo to the amp , the pre amp signal. You need to test the output from the stereo. If the amp fan ain't running , it may only run when hot.

Don't be fooled...the Twisted one always starts this way...innocent little requests for "pictures of your socket" etc....soon he asks for intimate pictures of your gentleman's vegetables......be warned...

He solved his last electrical fault in Spain with wire cutters and a hammer....

I have sweets and puppies in the back of the van. . . . . . . .I have a brand new big bore kit for a Harley in the back of the van, you'd probably be tripping over yourself trying to get in.

You have checked the signal at the cigarette lighter, this makes the amp start working. Check. ( turn ignition on fag lighter works, turn off = dead ) Good.
You have made sure the amp is receiving over 10.8V from the connections attached directly to the battery. ? ( if battery drops to less than 10.8V the amp shuts down )
I would test this voltage inside the amp. ( undo the eight screws holding the heat sink onto the plate amp, take off the heat sink and find the battery power coming in ( not the fag lighter ! )
You have connected a speaker directly to the "pre amp" output on the amp. Check. ( no sound )[you need to wanger the volume right up ]

The connectors should be available from Maplin, they should be the same as computer motherboard fan connectors or even PSU connectors.
Next you want to connect a speaker directly to the stereo left and then right pre amp speaker connectors. Check.

The amp switches on/off seen via the power light on right side of amp facing batwing.
The HK radio/CD player works via tank console connection to helmet speakers.
Will again try the pre-amp bypass connection using the front speaker plug to try and get sound this weekend. Last resort will be removing the amp as it is zip tied and taped in position on top of radio/CD case.

It was hot today and my head is red as a cherry.
