After spending a lot of time looking at panniers for my 1190, I've narrowed it down to two or three options. The thing that rules out a lot for me is the width - I think you've got to have some with exhaust cutout to keep narrow.

Jesse I've used for ten years on a GS - indestructible (all welded 2mm), big capacity, narrow, proven, but do let water in long periods of driving rain - and very expensive in the UK. And not IMHO the best looking.

I'm now seriously looking at Holan. They seem to do most of what the Jesse's do, including 2mm ali. But I'm concerned about how robust they are in the event of off-road drops, in light their riveted and sealed construction. I'm planning a trip east from UK through Russia, Mongolia etc to Magadan, probably next year - and there will be plenty of spills doubt! I'd fit the Wings shorty to get 2x 45 ltr.

Has anyone given the Holan's some abuse? And anyone have any in the SW I could take a look at?

Or maybe Globescout's worth a look?

I have the Holan a Nomada boxes for my 1190. Totally waterproof, racks can be fitted in about 15 minutes and they seem tough enough when I whacked a steel trailer while squeezing past a road crew. Such a bang, and I feared the worst, but I escaped with the smallest of dings and a tiny crack in the plastic corner cover. No damage to the integrity of the box at all.
