Stick "camping Wales" into the search box and you'll get loads of hits.

This thread mentions a campsite in Rhayader popular with UKGSers.

"apparently 9 pubs within 5 five mins walk" should please

That would be an excellent base for tours of the Cambrian Mountains, Wye Valley, Lake Vyrnwy, Bala etc.

Good roads close by are the pass from Abergwesyn to Tregaron, Tregaron to Llandovery via Llyn Briane and the Aberwystwyth Mountain road from Rhayader to Cwmystwyth. Try to steer clear of the main A roads (A40, A44, A470 etc) and you will, largely, be sports bike and police free. There are some excellent B roads on the Monmouthshire/Herefordshire border which are often ignored by the tourist to Wales.

Popular meeting points for tea & cakes at Crossgates on the A44 east of Rhayader, Abergavenny Bus Station and West End Cafe, Llandovery.

Keep your SHEEP locked-up lads we dont have that many in ULSTER and I think Kyle knows them all ;)
