Honda 2006 CBF 600 Clock Re-Setting?

Hi, the wife uses her bike every day to commute on but this last week and a half the time clock on the dash has been re-setting almost every time she starts it. It has a fairly new battery (6 months ago) and starts up straight away no probs. Anyone got any clues? Did a quick interweb search but couldn't find anything.

I suspect it's an early indication that the regulator/rectifier is on the way out. I'd investigate with a view to changing it now because if it does fail, it could take out that new battery and possibly the alternator as well.

Ok, ta for that. I may just stick a new one on now just in case.

The other things to check are all the connections in the charging system, including the main earth connections onto the engine and frame.

Did you ever get resolution to this, as my '09 (SA8) CBF6 does the same thing... has done for a year now although she still starts and runs fine even after sitting for a few months without use..
