my training was at Bramley TA Centre back in erm erm erm.... '90-91ish I'd have to look it up I'm missing a few years. I was the last bloke to VW (voluntarily withdraw) on my course after getting my yellow letter which was the acceptance for further training invite. I wasn't badged, spent around 24 minutes as someone who was accepted for further training...
I did this for the simple reason I'd worked out over the bloody weeks and months I tried to balance a real job and a hobby which was growing out of control. There are only a few things you can be really good at... and I liked taking pictures of semi naked women far more than playing at soldiers.
the biggest thing that always stays with me from having a go was all they tried to do with the training was mess with your brains... the best was the running they'ed drive along behind in a LR and beast us along and then have a rest in the back of the wagon....

Anyway while the membership secretary at the artist's rifles I met allsorts of folk, most really nice and genuine a whole pile of nutters which I weeded out in my tenure (5-6 years). My last act as secretary I destroyed the files when the club was sold to some I believed unsavoury characters, who within 6 months had the police down, got busted for allsorts of funny things and got assorted sentences from 3-7 years. it was all over the papers back in... 98? might look that up.
I did that to protect the members some came from interesting backgrounds lots of police, funnies, 14 int, hereford mafia and gifted freelancers from any flash over which seemed fair they didn't ask to have their details sold on and that made me a non person for a long time.
Now was the question about the boat house again....
