Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel with parking in Rouen for one night? Either that or is the paid parking (assume underground) is secure? If I can’t find anything in Rouen may then consider a stay near Giverney with somewhere to eat in the evening (at hotel or walking distance) as planning to visit Monet gardens

If you don't mind a bit of a walk into town, Ibis Rive Gauche Mermoz has secure parking and if you're lucky/unlucky..has a room view of the rugby pitch.

I’m sure the Ibis by the river has a gated carpark…. Or the Mercure in the centre has underground carpark…

We stayed at the IBIS Rouen Nord last week. Rooms were smallish, but fine, clean and comfortable. Just off the motorway. Self-serve check in for late arrivals. Ten minutes or so out of town. Parking is not secure (there is a gate, but it's not shut), but you park right outside the hotel and it isn't on any flight path - sort of the end of a commercial zone. It's also unlit, but didn't feel like a bad area. We always use multiple disk locks plus tracker, Hiplok and alarm so...

rouen hotels with parking

Based on recent reviews and hotel listings, here are several hotels in and around Rouen that offer parking
. Options range from central locations to more budget-friendly choices on the outskirts.

Hotels with parking in central Rouen
  • Hôtel Mercure Rouen Centre Cathedrale
    :
This 4-star hotel is in the city center, just 160 meters from the Notre Dame Cathedral.
    • Parking details: It offers paid, on-site parking in a garage. Note that some travelers find the entrance and spaces "tiny and narrow," so it may not be suitable for larger vehicles.
  • Best Western Plus Hôtel de Dieppe 1880
    :
Located near the train station in central Rouen, this 4-star hotel provides parking.
    • Parking details: It uses the nearby P2 Effia car park. A user in 2022 noted the fee was €10 per night. Note that the car park has a maximum height of 1.8 meters, which could be an issue for taller vehicles.
  • Hotel Litteraire Gustave Flaubert, Signature Collection
    :
This 4-star hotel in the city center has parking available.
  • ibis Rouen Centre Champ-de-Mars
    :
This hotel features secure, paid parking for guests.
  • ibis budget Rouen Centre Rive Gauche
    :
A budget-friendly option, this hotel has a secure, courtyard parking area at the rear. A reviewer noted the entrance is through an archway, which is a consideration for larger cars.

  • Hotels with parking outside the city center

  • These hotels are often more budget-friendly and are a good choice for travelers with cars who don't mind a short drive or bus ride into the center.

What kind of hotel are you looking for, if it’s not to be a chain?

You need a Crit’Air sticker of ‘3’ or lower to drive/ride in Rouen.

Having just come back through Rouen...avoid. It's a mess with all the roadworks. I'd stay out of the city if you could

It’s always been a messy city. But, the magnificent cathedral alone is worth a detour.

My father visited and found the tomb of Richard (it holds his heart only) dusty, so he took out his clean handkerchief, lent over and dusted it.

Not suggesting you do this, but we didn't have one. I don't think I saw a bike with a Crit'Air sticker while we were there.

I’ve applied for a Crit Air sticker. Will my 2023 1250 GSA Euro5 meet the requirements for Rouen centre?

You’ll find out when it arrives, as I guess your submission included all the vehicle’s details. Be patient.

As your bike is all but new, it would be amazing if it didn’t. Would it not?

Stayed in the Ibis champ-de-mars a few years back. It was fine and an easy wander into town.

Was very lucky because we were in the Discovery, which I had parked nose-in in the underground “slot” in the garage. Tight fit.
The next night we stayed at an air B&B and the following morning, the Disco would not start, battery failure. It was easy to sort out with jump leads, but if it had happened in the underground it would have been a mega faff to sort out.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Rouen Centre

Stayed here a few times with wifey and the dog. Good underground secure car park where we could leave the car until 4pm on day of departure. Not cheap, but nice enough. Decent breakfast.

Regarding the Crit air, I'm sure there has been a vote where they have agreed to sack it off nationwide, albeit it hasn't been formally scrapped yet. So either don't worry about it, or pay the few euros it costs for piece of mind.

Also used the ibis Rouen Centre Champ-de-Mars. Again, underground parking. The rooms were cheaper, for a reason. The site is shared with the Hôtel Mercure Rouen Centre Champ-de-Mars. They use the same basement carpark and the shared restaurant is on the ground floor of the Mercure side. Looked quite nice from what we saw from the Ibis. We only had a flying overnighter so didn't need more than a bed for the night,

Thank you for the recommendation. Booked the Mercure in the centre before I saw your post. Thanks for the information regarding their car park which I shall be using

Was going to recommend Mercure as it’s very central with underground parking

I nearly always use the Ace motel.
Cheap as chips clean and newish and a little resturant 100 yrds away. Outside gated parking mind.
Have a great safe trip
