90euro is expensive!Makes for an expensive tour if you end up paying this for a one night stay. Most of us who offer B&B are around the 50 Euro mark including breakfast and a beer on arrival (several more usually follow)
Two star hotels should be around the 70 euro mark, be careful of those who add a parking fee of anything up to 10 euros, ask at reception. My brother in law got stung at a best western hotel 100 euros plus 9 for parking his bike. Tired and wet and didn't ask. He does now
Overall standards in France are good but the rise of budget hotels has hit the family run business in some areas just as Mcdonalds has closed a lot of the Routier cafes and restaurants that used to be good value but can't compete with a 90cent coffee and a 5 euro burger and chips.
Always ask to see the room when you arrive, I've heard some horror stories from my guests on arrival chez Thornley.
You get what you pay for. 90 euro for large en-suite room inc buffet breakfast,inc parking, 3 star hotel peak season in the Alps is good value i think when you see some of the rooms on offer.
