I have just purchased a Schuberth C2 helmet and am pretty happy with it but need some advice on fitment of an Autocom mic.

Can you remove the cheek pads to get the mic stem behind? I am not sure if the screws on the outside of the cheek pads will allow their removal? Any other ideas? Anyone cracked it?

Thanks in advance.

There's a knack in getting the mic positioned for the best sound.......you have to open your mouth, push the mic in until it touches your teeth then stop pushing and it springs back so it's just in front of your lips.....

I find that if it's not in a place where I can purse my lips and touch it, my pilion won't hear.

Because of that, I don't reckon putting the mic boom behind the padding would be a good idea.....

On my old C2 I wrapped a small bit of velcro around the boom shaft (oooer missus) and stuck the corresponding bit (the softer of the two bits) onto the padding...the boom stayed there very well....I could move it away when riding solo but I had enough movement in the rest of the boom to move it to my lips when I needed it.

get the longer "stem" from autocom (for open face helmets)....it works alot better.......

i found (long or short "stem") that it took alot of abuse from opening / shutting the lid.......

i always get infinity to fit my headset - they always do a 1st class job.

Thanks for the advice and pdf gents.

SteveUK who are infinity by the way? Where are they based and what do they charge for the job?

Cheers
