As the thread title states, I have some downloads of tours suggested by others. They are ‘Tracks’. How do I convert them to ‘Routes’ within MRA?

  1. Open the track.
  2. Go to the page menu (top right) go to edit route track. This will create a route (automatically and ask for a name) usually with too many waypoints. I converted a 133 mile track and it give me 90.
  3. Zoom in on the new route and edit the waypoint/ensure the pointy tail is in the middle of the road to ensure seamless navigation. Takes about 10-15 mins a conversion depending how adept you are.
  4. I reduced that route to 35 waypoints.

Take a bit of care, as the conversion is sometimes not prefect.

A. The converted route might well have some of its waypoints positioned very badly. On bridges, on the wrong exit of a roundabout, in a field, are just three easy examples.

B. If MyRoute knows a road is closed, it will take you as far along the track as it can before the closed section. Then it will backtrack to miss the closure out, before taking you to the closest point it can find after the closure.

Many thanks. I knew it must be in there somewhere
