How do I get the best deal?

Go with your heart if you think too hard about it you will never buy anything. Life's too short to worry too much we will all be gone in 30-40 years :rob

cheeky offer a day or three from the end of the month may be worth a punt.

Re financing, have alook at an unsecured bank loan - may be cheaper than dealer finance and it wouldn't be recorded against the bike (so arguably easier to sell when the time comes). The bike is yours from day 1. Just a thought.

You won't get £1k towards your deposit and some reckon that cash buying is of no benefit to a dealer these days and may not get you the discount it might have done 'back in the day', but shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to get a quote and see how it stacks up.

Whatever deal you do, be brazen - just keep asking. The worst that'll happen is they'll say no.

What he said:thumb If they've got money in the deal they will shift if not, they won't, it never hurts to ask as long as your'e not offended by "NO" !:D

Remember though, they have to make a profit otherwise we don't get to walk around their showrooms drinking their coffee and eating their Bacon Rolls!!!:beerjug:

Dealers also have money running into the sand from unmoved used bikes. My brother has just (privately) sold his Guzzi Breva 1100. 2010 bike with 11K miles FSH and perfect condition. It made just over £4K. Around £4.5K (same as dealers ask for 2005 Brevas) was its expected value. Add that up across a showroom and things don look good.

Being in the right place at the right time helps, as does making a dealers job easy.

In my case a mate was returning his GSA on PCP to the dealers, so I asked the dealer how much to swap my bike (4 years older) for his. I paid £5k plus my old bike for a fully loaded GSA with low miles, the dealer moved it on to me in 3 days with no more effort than giving it a wash and a used bike warranty policy. In the dealers case it was an easy sell with no stock sitting around in his showroom, my immaculate 2004 bike went straight into a van for sale abroad.
