How do I go wireless?

i may have got this wrong - but you should be able to connect it like this....... ;

wall to modem to PC using USB

then

PC to Router using CAT5
Router to laptop wirelessly


then - as Mr Hogg suggests, set up ICS for the main PC - and connect the laptop thru that to t'imternet

You are probably right but I didn't read Judge's comments thoroughly so what I didn't do was buy a Wireless Broadband Router/Modem thingy. Dumb twat that I am I bought the wrong bit of kit.

Oh well back to square one! I wonder if Amazon will p-ex it?

Did it myself Mike when I went shopping with Phil Reynolds for his kit, it doesn't help they look identical and are located on the same shelves at PC Woe. They happily took it back and exchanged it for the correct item.

Made sure I paid proper attention when I went shopping with Steptoe.

I normally buy them online from Dabs and they too have exchanged other items no problems before, though they are a regular purchase for me so I just re-order. I'd imagine Amazon would be fine
