Computer Luddite here.
Over the last few weeks I've suddenly had a very big rise in the number of this kinda spam, about a coupla dozen a day.
Each time I get them I add each one to the junk sender's list but the numbers of them don't seem to diminish.
Any ideas please?

block sender

In Outlook express which I appreciate is different from Outlook there is an option under the Message tab in the tool bar to block the sender
Just click on that few times with the mails and eventually they will be stopped.
Don'e let it get you down and just keep your end up:rolleyes:

Don't feel alone ;) Getting the same:spitfire It seems that every message is from a different sender though...

Like Bryn though, it's different senders every day coz I block them like you said.
Is there a way of blocking mails with specific words in the titles?

Try This

Hi Millard,

Try using Mailwasher, it's free and once you set it up use it to open your mail first, it then deletes any spam at your server and not when it gets to your e mail Inbox.
And yes you can set the filters to what ever you want.ie Look for spacific words, e mail addesses etc.

:nenau Just use Gmail :nenau

(It's called googlemail now but it's the same thing)

You can still use your own email address, you can get the mail from multiple accounts sent through the same Gmail account, you can even have the reply sent in the name of your old account.....I have all my business email come through to mine but on reply, it still says from '[email protected]' or whatever......

You can still use outlook or outlook express, or just use the normal Gmail page

No spam....their filters are superb at getting it......I still nip into my spam folder once a month before I delete it but I think I've only ever once found something there that shouldn't have been.

Finally, because it's web based you can get the same layout and functionality and receive/send your emails from any online PC in the world.

It's free too :bounce1

I've got 90 odd invites left for an account if you want one.......:thumb

Yes. Use the "Rules Wizard" to create mail-handling rules based on content.

simply making a rule to junk anything not having your exact address in the "To" field catches most of it.

I tried that Steve, but being a PC numpty I never figured how it works.
Any chance someone could give me an idiot's guide to blocking any mails with the word VIAGRA in the title please?
cheers

Buy some. You'll spend so much time 'enjoying' a raging hard-on you'll have little time for e-mail......

Have a read of the emails and you'll quickly see that that won't work very well :(....

They know it's an obvious thing to do so they spell it differently, or, in the same way that you can type the word fuck here by formatting the word to get around the autosensors (but it doesn't show up on the screen) they can format the word viagra so a basic filter won't detect it.
