How do you get free Garmin Mapsource 8

Hi All,

I bought one of those £200 Garmins last year and as yet haven't registered it or loaded the Mapsource software...(is that right or is it called City Select ?)

How do I go about getting a free upgrade to version 8, Ive got version 6

order a free disc from garmin on their website, install, unlock on the web.

It will depend on when the unit was bought. If it shippd with 6 and 7 was out, then 7 will be fre... it was for me when I bought my Quest in June 05.... gettiong to 8 might involve the $75 offer.... but how much has changed between 7 & 8?

Yep, it will be a free upgrage if it has not been registered - atleast that was my experience. FYI I also bought a £200 quest - and bl**dy marvelous it is too - last year. Registered it after CN8 was announced and then got an upgrage DVD for free from Garmin. Ran CN8 and it installed for free - I was well impressed

By the way it's worth doing if going to the remoter regions of France - the detail in CN8 is much improved compared to CS6.
