How does a wireless hotspot work?

Nah!!!

He really is one of those greasy-haired, spotty, unkempt, and socially-awkward types who needs all the friends he can find.

I've rarely seen anyone happier at his work. Gave him £100 for his time to set the thing up. He took a whole morning, but that included getting the various cards and bits so he could join up the PCs and laptops.

And, to be fair, we've not had a moment's problems in almost 2 years.

so there's no chalk marks outside your house? that's ok then :)

I logged on to two networks today using a Palm T3 and wifi card....one on a housing estate in Reading and another behind a petrol station in Oxford.

Scary really.....you'd have thought that the WIFI kit providers would turn the security 'on' as default rather than 'off'.

I can access three networks from where I'm sitting at home.....none are faster than 2mbs so I use my own but it's useful to know incase NTL go down one day :D

Wow!

And even when I went up to Oxford to study engineering, we were faced with a HUGE computer, Fortran 4, and punch cards.

Should have gone to a proper engineering school, no wonder you can't adapt to the changning world :D
