Frustrated from Lincolnshire here

Heard about this marvellous new operating system for my iphone 4 so decided to put my vast IT skills to work and download via itunes.

That was friday night.

It is now sunday afternoon and I'm still nowhere nearer reaching that nirvana that most of you have arrived at without any problems at all :blast

I've reinstalled itunes several times and tried 3 different computers at home to no avail at all.

I can't backup from the iphone at all - its not jailbroken, tampered with and works absolutely fine. I right-click on the iphone name in itunes and then click backup and the program seems to run okay - for a while. Then it stops and says that it is unable to backup to the computer.

This means that what I have on the phone stays on the phone and I have no way of installing this ios5 thingy.

When I look at task manager it shows itunes as not responding 80% of the time.

What the feck is wrong :nenau

Computer is only 5 weeks old and the iphone is less than a year old.

Anyone, please.....

leave it a week as everyone else is trying to do the same and jamming the system up radio 4 ran a repot on this on friday

Right....

Problem appears to be itunes is unable to do a backup.
I right-click on the iphone name and then click backup...this goes on for ages and ages and ages...I then click on task manager and click end itunes but itunes doesn't respond.

Tried this on 3 different computers and always the same - ios5 updater will start to looad but as soon as it tries to backup iphone it all stops

Is there anything I can do :nenau

This is what I get when trying to backup via itunes - any advice?

Wasted time on google searches so instead just went for a complete restore - ios5 now on and just need to spend a little time uploading some of the apps I had.
Photos and contacts were all saved on computer anyway.

Funny thing is I now feel a bit liberated as I probably only used about 10% of my apps anyway
