Hello,

I've been lurking a while here as I think my next bike will be a 1200. I currently own a Rockster and used to own a 650GS and the idea of a bike that could be the result if the two bikes mated appeals to me!

I've just had my Rockster serviced and want to keep it until my rear tyre is dead so I get the most out of the money I have recently put into the bike. This leads me to my question 'How long did you have to wait between ordering you 1200 and getting it if it had to be built to order?'

I think I may have to wait for one to be built as I have settled on the following spec:

No ABS
Spoked Wheels
Heated Grips
And want looks like the fastest colour......Silver!

Thanks for your responses.

Welcome wibble :thumb

The lead time varies greatly depending on your dealer and what you choose.

There have been a number of threads - try searching the 1200 forum

btw there is also a 'I'm new here' forum. You could post there to introduce yourself also :D

(all the faster Blue ones sold then? ;) )

Good move....getting your last few quid our of your Rockster may cost you tho' depreciation over a couple of months may outweigh the rubber you aim to use up??

I hear what you are saying about depreciation but at more than two years old and 18000 plus miles whatever I do I do not think I will win! I just can't justify having just paid for a service and then trading it in!

It's swings and roundabouts. A prospective purchaser, whether it be private or a dealer, will take into account the fact that it needs a service and a new rear tyre when arriving at an offer price.

....yeah, I think you mean grey, as in accountant grey. Ferrari's are red, so get a red GS they are definately the fastest. If you're in touch with your feminine side, go for yellow. :thumb

Oooh no it isn`t! Mr Wibble`s got right Silver much much faster :D
I think my next bike will be a 1200
you could also get a low mile 1150 for less money, with all the goodies, all the glitches sorted and no wait :)
