I've done a little over 6k miles on my standard '05 GS since I got it in April of this year. There's now just over 20k miles on it at this point.

The tires look ok to me, but I'm no expert when it comes to wear and tear of tires.

Any thoughts?

I had around 13,000 out of the last 2 sets on my 1150 - very impressed !

Which GS is it?? I assume its a F650GS as its in the 450/650 technical section. I would recon you should see at least 8-10k from a rear tourance more on the front. My R1150GS has just got 9000 on the clock and its shot...really shot:augie

Yeah it's an F650GS.

10-13k per change, hmmm I'd say I'm on the second set of tires so... Might see if I can find out from the guy I bought it off if he changed the tires...

12K on the front and probably another 1K to go on the rear.
The handling starts to suffer on the front from about 9K

Never managed anything like that mileage on the 650`s or the 1150.
4/6 k miles on the rear, change the front every second rear.
Ill not tell you what I was getting out of a set of TKC`s. :blast

I agree..... Lets face it , it all depends how much welly you give it on any bike.. Some people will always manage to get good mileages whilst others will get considerably less. I bought my Dak with 8000 on the clock. Now up to 11500 on Conti Escapes, recon they are about half worn. We dont have motorways down here in Cornwall and I try to keep off dual carraigeways and enjoy a nice twisty at a goodly pace. I recon the bike is pretty gentle on tyres as the accelleration is pretty progressive even when going hard.:rob

I did a rear in 3k on my Dakar - and that included 600miles running it in:D

Might have lasted another 1k

I am on my 3rd set of Tourances and average about 13/14000 (8/9 K Miles?)Kilometers for the front and 2/3000 Km's more for the rear.

Especially for the rear one, I have noticed that although there are still some threads, after the above mileage the tyre becomes too stiff and I prefer to make the change than squeeze my luck.

Better safe than sorry ! :rob

Btw, I ride a '03 F650 GS mainly on windy alpine roads, no highways - I guess this could make some difference on consumption.

Cheers
