Just back from a great ride out with Tufftywhite on his GS.

I spent all yesterday fettling my new Husky in preparation for it's first ride out into the Peaks today and what a beautiful, cold, sunny day it was.

Not much of a ride report 'cos I was too busy having fun to take pictures but thought I'd share a photo lesson in how to cross a river.

First I cross, all calm and cool I hit a rock and only just save it.

Tuffty who has been watching this and taking piccies now knows which route not too take (you'd think )

He looks like he enjoyed it though :)

Cheers for a great ride out David :beerjug:

How was the new bike Andres?
:)

Like a comfy pair of slippers :)

I spent all day yesterday fettlimg/tweaking and she feels just like old 610 now but with a bit more power. If there's a very slight downside it's the FI, I preferred the instant pick up of the carb on the 610.
So, well chuffed basically, the intention is for it to be a keeper and I can see no reason why it won't be :)

How's the Orange one, are you gelling with it?

Yeah but ..... same as you regarding the FI.

I have a 3 position handlebar mounted mode switch on the 690 and the instant pick can be awesome:eek: (Akro, no air box just a foam filter under the seat and remapped) or soft as a pussy cat, the BUT is somehow I prefer the fuelling on my 640 with the big FCR carb:nenau

Like you, I have oodles more power, the suspension has been reworked to perfection etc. etc....no doubt I'll find time this week to get out and gel some more with it:)

Andres, the last photo is it Beely moor from Chatsworth end ? Where are you at the Ford is it above Ilam or after Wetton.
Glad neither of you went for a swim a little bit cold:eek:

Interesting what you say about the fueling, I'm guessing the mode switch will give you the instant pick up by, amongst other things, changing the sensitivity of the throttle? which isn't the same thing as instant pick up - FI never seems quite as good as carbs and certainly nowhere near as nice as a well set up flat slide with a pump :)

The last shot was taken at the head of a trail that runs from the direction of Matlock down to the hump back bridge at the entrance to Chatsworth - is that the one you mean?

The river is the Lathkill, in between Meadow place farm and Over Haddon - it was the deepest I've seen it for a while after all the rain we've had recently!

Brilliant ride I loved every minute of it, thank you.

I followed your route through the ford as I didn't wish to show you up. :augie
