Just got myself a Nav3 and have installed all the software Mapsource and POI Loader. Where can I get some free points of interest for my Nav3? Then I suppose I will need the POI Loader to install them? Mapsource looks complicated also?

Customising the 2820 / Nav3?

I've now updated my maps to v9 (2009). I've been looking on the garmin website and notice that customising the device is quite limited - much to my suprise. It's still early days for me but I noticed from the Garmin website that changing the veicle icon on the map screen (for example) is not supported on my device - so what else can't I do?

Can anyone tell me what I can or can't do in regard to customising the nav3 please

Also, I notice some of my factory preset POI's are out of date, can they be updated by deleting or adding new ones?

POI's will always be changing. See endless threads moaning about "The garage is shut, it's been shut for years etc. etc." There is a section on the Garmin site which enables you to advise Garmin of any significant changes you come across.

There is not a lot you can do with the Nav III by way of playing around / customising. It works pretty well in its basic mode, after all.

From memory, the official BuMW site has downloads with updates. But how up-to-date they are :nenau

There was a problem, I do not know if there still is, of downloading some Garmin updates as the Nav III is different from the bog standard Garmin equivalent device. For instance, the new mapping did not load (see thread) - requiring a BuMW version all of its own.
