how to post a link 'here'

My apologies, but no doubt this has been asked before, put when posting on the forum how do I post a link here rather than copying and pasting the whole thing?

And, would the same method be applicable when posting links into an e-mail?

Select the bit of text you want for the link, then click the world icon, paste in your link
